A new Solstice Religion
Resonance
Resonance is an innovative exhibition and performance that seeks to explore the intersection of ancient solstice traditions, modern technology, Art, and the universal human connection to nature.
The project aims to exist as a 'thought experiment' which can help us explore the philosophy and ethics surrounding science, technology, spirituality and our environment via the creation of a new, universal ‘religion’ using generative AI.
Resonance synthesizes practices from various ancient and modern-day anamistic religions, with a focus on the celebration of solstice— a time of renewal, gratitude, and the triumph of good over evil.

Universal Religion & Solstice Traditions
- The project draws on solstice celebrations from various cultures, emphasizing the universal themes of renewal, gratitude, and the cyclical nature of life.
- It incorporates elements from animistic, pagan, and modern religious practices, creating a new, inclusive tradition that honors the Earth and our place within it.

Technology & Connection
- The exhibition explores how new & existing technology can enhance our understanding and experience of religious and cultural practices, connecting people across different geographies and backgrounds and the Earth.

- Infrasound, a key element of the project, will be used to evoke heightened emotional and spiritual experiences, as demonstrated in studies of ancient religious sites and modern experiments.

Human-Nature Interconnection
- The project underscores the idea that humans are an integral part of nature, aligning with philosophies like ex-NASA scientist James Lovelock’s Gaia theory.

- Through worship, meditation and ritual, participants will be invited to reconnect with the natural world, acknowledging the Earth as a living, conscious entity.
